The Ware Center

ABOUT THE WARE CENTER

The Ware Center is Lancaster’s premier performing arts center. Located on Lancaster’s famous Gallery Row, our mission is to foster creativity, learning, and understanding in our great community. Since 2011, we have quickly become a hub of cultural activity in our community. By developing an Arts Advisory Council, hosting events during Lancaster’s First Fridays, and curating a host of diverse performances, the Ware Center helps our neighbors engage in their community and the world.

VENUE ACCESSIBILITY

We are a fully-accessible facility that can accommodate any special seating, audio/visual, or access request. Contact our Box Office for questions or to make a request.

STEINMAN HALL

One of the last buildings designed by world-renowned architect Philip Johnson, the Ware Center was completed in 2008. Among the classrooms and gallery spaces, the facility venues include the 350-seat Steinman Hall, boasting state-of-the-art sound and acoustics befitting a world-class performance facility; and the glass pyramid-topped Atrium, which configures in multiple ways to accommodate up to 250 people. Now, as home to the Millersville University Office of Visual & Performing Arts, we regularly present cultural arts performances, films, art exhibits, and lectures. Families and school groups from all over Lancaster County enjoy our Family Fun Fest events and arts camps for youth. Additionally, we host community gatherings, business and civic meetings, and conferences.

Event parking at the Ware Center can be found at the Prince Street Garage or the Colonial Parking surface lot (formerly Hager), both of which are within a block of our facility.
