Robin Spielberg has over 25 years of experience in the music business as a musician, author, composer, educator and entrepreneur. In addition to an illustrious recording and concert career, she is Partner and Chief Operations Officer of Kosson Talent, a talent booking agency in Pennsylvania representing performing artists on tour, and owner of both Spobs Music Publishing and the playMountain Music record label.

Spielberg was signed as a recording artist to North Star Records in the 1990’s and created six piano-based albums for the label before founding her own label in the year 2000. She has recorded 17 albums of original solo piano music, original music composed for piano/ensemble,  holiday recordings, a lullaby album and original arrangements of music from film, theater and the American Songbook. Her music appears on over 40 compilation CDs around the world and has sold over 1 million recordings. Her Pandora radio station is immensely popular and has had over 78 million spins. 

Named the prestigious Steinway Artist Roster, Spielberg tours as a solo concert pianist as well as with her own acoustic ensemble, “American Tapestry.” She has performed in New York City’s Carnegie Hall, The California Center for the Arts and every place in between, including a month-long tour through Montana with a Steinway in tow. She is signed with Sony Music Publishing in Asia and has toured three times throughout South Korea performing at the Seoul Arts Center and on EBS Television. She owns and operates Spobs Music, Inc., a publishing company affiliated with The American Society of Composers & Publishers. 

Professor Spielberg has taught as an “Artist in Residence” through the California State University system, Eastern Tennessee State University, Juniata College, The Mayo Clinic and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Spielberg serves as Celebrity Artist Spokesperson for the American Music Therapy Association, and gave a popular TEDx Talk on the connection between music and wellness. 

Spielberg’s memoir about her life on the road and forays into the music business is entitled “Naked on the Bench: My Adventures in Pianoland.” The book won the Reader’s Favorite Gold Medal Award in 2014. Professor Spielberg is a member of The National Association of Recording Arts & Sciences and is a voter in the annual Grammy Awards. She is also a member of the Screen Actors Guild, ASCAP, American Federation of Musicians. Spielberg holds a B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She is an original member of the Tony-winning Atlantic Theater Company, which she co-founded with classmates Clark Gregg, Felicity Huffman and teachers William H. Macy and David Mamet. Incorporating techniques learned from Atlantic, Spielberg teaches workshops on “Overcoming Performance Anxiety” which has proven effective for public speakers, actors and musicians.
