Kelsey Backels, Ph.D.
Counseling Psychologist
Dr. Kelsey Backels is Professor and Chair, Department of Counseling and Human Development and Director, Counseling Center since 2002. She began her tenure at Millersville University in August, 1991. Dr. Backels has been licensed as a psychologist by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania since 1993. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Ball State University in 1991, her M.Ed. in Counselor Education from James Madison University in 1978, and her B.S. in Psychology from Madison College (now James Madison University) in 1976. Dr. Backels has been a member of the Lancaster County Critical Incident Stress Management Team since 2006.
