Dr. Ross W. Ellison is an honors graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where he majored in organ.  He earned both his Master of Music degree in organ performance and his Doctor of Philosophy degree in musicology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as a graduate teaching assistant in organ and music theory.

Dr. Ellison has pursued additional study at Westminster Choir College (choral conducting and music administration), and in Freiburg, Germany (organ masterclasses with internationally renowned organist Prof. Walter Kraft).  He holds both the Colleague and Choirmaster certifications from the national examining board of the American Guild of Organists.  Dr. Ellison performs frequently in the mid-Atlantic states, in venues as diverse as Longwood Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg.

The founder and owner of University Music Service in Hershey, Dr. Ellison is a professional music bibliographer and music dealer, providing bibliographic expertise and supplying printed classical music for institutional clients throughout the United States.

In his organ studio, Dr. Ellison concentrates on technique (with special emphasis on pedalwork), hymn playing, repertoire (sacred and classical), and artistic registration.  Emphasis is placed on functioning well as a church organist.  Piano majors will also find that study of the organ will open up new possibilities with regard to fingering, articulation, and interpretation, enhancing their overall keyboard maturity.
