Transfer Program Opportunities
Helping YOU with next steps on your academic journey...
We work to develop guidance for your next steps. By building partnership programs with regional community colleges, Millersville provides transfer opportunities to complete your Bachelors degree.
See the sections below for a variety of resources and information on our transfer partnership programs.
Dual Admission Programs
Millersville University is proud to partner with regional community colleges to offer opportunities for guided transfer through Dual Admission programs and agreements.
The Dual Admission Programs are designed for students who plan to complete an Associate Degree prior to enrolling at Millersville. They are primarily advisement programs that provide guidance, transcript exchange, and ongoing credit evaluation to show how community college credits fit towards a Millersville degree. It is recommended that a Dual Admission Program Intent Form be submitted before completion of 30 community college credits to ensure appropriate alignment for the intended major/degree.

Academic Passport
Academic Passport guarantees admission and provides ease and guidance for students transferring from Pennsylvania community colleges, Lackawanna College, and from other PASSHE Universities. Select from the institutions below for more information.
Eligibility: Students who completed an Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) from a PA community college or Lackawanna College, earned a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA in all coursework, and at least 30 credits of liberal arts coursework OR students from another PA State System University who have completed at least 12.0 college-level (earned and transferable) and earned at least a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA.
Program Guidelines: This program does not guarantee admission into certain academic programs that have higher or additional admission requirements. With an Associate degree, up to 45 general education/liberal arts credits will be applied toward satisfying general education requirements. Transferability between certain programs (as outlined by TAOC and PA Statewide P2P Agreements see here) may affect transfer credit acceptance/application toward degrees.
"D" grades will transfer only if the overall GPA from each institution attended is 2.0 or better. Some programs may require a "C" or higher for major courses, prerequisite courses, and/or certain other courses. Note that all ENGL 110 (English Composition) and COMM 100 (Fundamentals of Speech) course equivalents require a grade of "C-" or better and "D" grades are not acceptable for transfer of credit from the above institutions.
Remedial, developmental, or study skills courses are not transferable. Occupational and vocational courses are typically not transferable. Certain technical courses may transfer depending upon the program/certain agreements.

Transfer Equivalency Lists
Millersville + Commonly Transferred Schools Equivalency Lists
This directory lists the most commonly transferred from colleges/universities and our transfer course equivalencies. Note this is NOT all schools from which we accept transfer courses for credit, only the most common. Any inquiries about an institution NOT listed, please contact the email listed below.
This also may NOT include all courses from the other school. If a course isn't listed, it may mean the course has never been transferred to MU before and therefore, furthe research would need to be done to determine an appropriate equivalent/transferability. Please contact us at transfer@millersville.edu or Danielle Rapp, Assistant Director of Admissions, directly at Danielle.Rapp@millersville.edu with questions/concerns.
Pennsylvania Transfer and Articulation Center (PA TRAC)
The PA Transfer and Articulation Center is a resource for transfer students, parents/family, advisors, faculty, and administrators. Students are able to use the resources regarding Program-to-Program Transfer Credit Framework and equivalencies. Students who successfully complete courses from the approved Transfer Credit Framework for certain programs (AA or AS to corresponding Bachelors degrees) will have their credits transferred and counted toward graduation at any participating college and university, including Millersville. There are additional helpful resources available at PA TRAC.
