New MAX FAQs (being created as questions arise)

  • How Do I Email ALL my Advisees?

The easiest method to email all advisees if you are a Windows user is to log into MAX and go to your Advisee Listing page. There is a "Email All” button. However, if you are Faculty who has a Mac machine you have two options below.

Department Secretaries will have to use Argos.

OPTION 1 (for mac): ARGOS Detailed Report

    Requirements:

    • You must be on campus to access Argos directly from your mac machine. However if you are off campus you can access Arogs using the Virtual Desktop.
      • If logging into Virtual Desktop, choose the “VMware Horizon HTML Access” option.
      • And then choose "Windows 11" desktop

    Steps:

    1. Open the Argos Web direct link to the Advisor Detail Report
    2. Search by the advisor’s last name.
      • Enter last name then click on “Tab” on your keyboard
      • Click on your name in first box
    3. To export the list:
      • At the top, under "Report Options", select "Report - Distinct Email Addresses"
      • Click "Save" (floppy disk icon)
    4. Open the text file and copy all of the email addresses.
    5. Open Outlook and create an email for your Advisees.
    6. Paste the emails into the "To" field of your email draft.

Option 2: Mac MACHINE using MAX

    Steps:

    1. Open the Chrome browser and go to New MAX.
    2. Navigate to the Advisee Listing page.
    3. Click the Email All button.
    4. A new window will pop up with a URL starting with mailto= followed by a list of email addresses.
    5. Copy this URL string.
    6. Visit the following page to convert the string into an Outlook-friendly format: https://millersvilleuniversity.sharepoint.com/sites/registrar/SitePages/Email-Conversion.aspx(Requires login) (Requires login)
    7. Copy the converted email string and paste it into the BCC field of your email client.
