Student Clubs

Student clubs compliment what students learn in the classroom, as well as provide opportunities for creative writing, publication, and development of leadership skills.

  • Creative Writers Guild

Creative Writers’ Guild is a place for MU students to mingle and share ideas, discuss their passions, and simply enjoy one another’s company.  The members have essentially become a family, and there is always room for more family members to join! Each meeting, we have a prompt to write about, but feel free to create anything you'd like! We've done everything from fanfiction to poetry to improv storytelling, and love trying new writing prompts!

  • English Club

The English Club sponsors activities and discussions of interest to English majors and other individuals with a love of words, drama, poetry, fiction, and film. Some activities include hosting literary readings of poetry and short works of fiction, screening films, attending plays, and participating in cultural events on campus and elsewhere. Community Service is also of interest.

  • Film Club

The Film Club (MU Ciné Club) at Millersville University is a venue for discussion about cinema. Students schedule a set of films for each semester and invite discussion of these films after the screenings.

The Film Club sponsors film events on campus with the aim of helping the university community think critically about film. Students also make trips to other venues to see films.

The Film Club attends the Toronto International Film Festival each year.

  • George Street Press
George Street Press is our literary and visual arts magazine created and edited by students.  If you love creative writing and editing, this club is a real opportunity for you to engage in a professional editing project that you can put on your resumé.
