  • Eden Swartzenruber (She/Her)
    Writing Center Tutor - EdenEden is a junior majoring in English Writing Studies and minoring in Anthropology. She has been working at the Writing Center since Spring 2022 and has been a Student Manager since Fall 2023. In addition to being a tutor, she works with Anna to run the Instagram to spread the word about what the Center offers. She is from Milton, Pennsylvania, a small town near Bucknell University. When she is not at the Writing Center, she enjoys reading, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time outdoors. She is also an intern for the Made in Millersville and Engage for Change journals, where she serves as the Web Design Specialist and a co-editor. After graduation, she wants to go into the editing and publishing field. She also hopes to pursue a master’s degree and eventually a PhD.

    Fun Fact: She has climbed the Thousand Steps trail (located in Mapleton, PA) three times in my life and it has not gotten easier at all.

  • Anna Jessel (She/Her)

    Writing Center Tutor - AnnaAnna is a freshman majoring in secondary English education. She started working at The Writing Center in Spring 2023 and has loved every minute. As an education major, tutoring is somewhat of a glimpse into her future, and she is excited for the years of helping students ahead of me. She is from Beaver, Pennsylvania, about forty minutes outside of Pittsburgh. She enjoys writing creatively and performing on stage. She's played the cello since I was ten and was fortunate enough to play Leanne in the university’s production of Puffs in Spring 2023. She is the social media coordinator for Millersville Concerned Women, the Public Relations Chair for the Citamard Players, and co-runner of the Writing Center's Instagram page. After graduation, she plans to teach and direct high school theater.

    Fun Fact: She dressed up as Princess Carolyn from Bojack Horseman for two Halloweens in a row.

  • Rebecca Berglund (She/Her)

    Writing Center Tutor - RebeccaRebecca is a junior majoring in Early Childhood Education. She has been at the Writing Center since Spring 2021 and a Student Manager since Fall 2022. She is from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. When she's not in class or at the Center, she likes to paint and spend time with her friends. She is part of the ECHO, HCSA, and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors
    Society. Also, she is the president of Kappa Delta Pi Honors Society in Education. She does not fully know what she want to do after she graduates, but know that she will be an elementary school teacher.

    Fun Fact: She is a published author.

  • Lauryn Everly (She/Her)

    Writing Center Tutor - LaurynLauryn is a sophomore in the Honors College studying Secondary English Education. She has been at the Writing Center since Fall 2022. She loves working with her peers, being able to read everyone’s amazing work, and that the Writing Center is a safe and fun environment for everyone. She's from a little town with one stoplight and the fitting name of Middleburg, PA, about two hours north of Millersville. She love reading, writing, spending time with her wonderful friends, and listening to music. Some of her favorite artists include Noah Kahan, Lana Del Rey, and Taylor Swift. She is member of the Conestoga Outdoors Club. After graduating with my BSE, she plans to jump right into her Master’s degree, and then will move on to work as an educator at the high-school level. She plans to one day get her PhD and become a professor.

    Fun Fact: She graduated high school with 35 college credits.

  • Emily Beichler (She/Her)

    Writing Center Tutor - EmilyEmily is a secondary English education major in her junior year. She has been working at the Writing Center since Spring 2023, but so far she's had nothing but good experiences. She's from East Berlin, PA. Some of her hobbies include Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, ultimate frisbee, reading, playing the piano, and, of course, hanging out with friends. Currently, she is a captain of Moose Ultimate, the ultimate frisbee club here on campus. Once she graduates, she plans to teach abroad (hopefully in New Zealand!) and attend graduate school.

    Fun Fact: She loves riding rollercoasters.

  • Jenna Karr (She/Her)

    Jenna KarrJenna is a senior majoring in Writing Studies. She started working as the Writing Center's intern in Spring 2023. She is in charge of creating writing resources for students to help educate them on different steps of the writing process such as how to make thesis statements, brainstorming, outlining, and more. She was born and raised in Lancaster, PA, and when she's not working on schoolwork, she enjoys reading fantasy and romance novels (her favorite is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo), watching Let’s Plays on YouTube, and playing video games such as Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, and Animal Crossing. After she graduates, Jenna hope to become an editor in book publication, and then publish the story that she's been writing since high school.

    Fun Fact: Her favorite TV show is Helluva Boss on YouTube.

  • Carson Bolash (He/Him)

    Writing Center Tutor - CarsonCarson is a junior in the Honors College studying Secondary English Education at Millersville. He has worked at the Writing Center since the Fall semester of 2023, and lives in Mechanicsburg, PA with his family and his two cats. When he’s not working or studying, he enjoys reading, hiking the outdoors, playing intramural sports, and spending time with friends and family.

    Fun Fact: During summers he works as a summer camp counselor

  • Jake Long (He/Him)

    Writing Center Tutor - JakeJake Long is a Junior Writing Studies major. Fall 2023 is his first semester as a writing tutor, but he has used the Writing Center a couple of times and has only good things to say. He is from Lancaster, Pa and spends his summers living in Cape Cod, MA. He loves to write, read, watch movies, and hike.

    Fun Fact: He has climbed five 5,000 foot mountains along the presidential stretch of New Hampshire's White Mountains.

  • Ariana Colella (She/Her)

    Ariana ColellaAriana is a Sophomore at Millersville University studying Secondary English Education. She began working at the Writing Center during the Fall 2023 Semester. Ariana is from Bucks County, which is along the border of Pennsylvania, and lived in Levittown Pa until she graduated high school. She has since moved to Upper Bucks County and lives in a small town named Sellersville. Ariana loves to creative writing and has enjoyed it since she was young. She is a music lover and has been to many concerts for a variety of different bands and artists including Neck Deep, Taylor Swift, and The 1975. She also has a soft spot for animals after she took care of her dog’s 10 puppies a few years ago.

    Fun Fact: This soft spot also includes her desire to pet a bear, despite knowing she in fact cannot pet a bear! Though, she still remains optimistic to this day!

  • Allison Mengel (She/Her)

    Writing Center Tutor - AllisonAllison is a junior majoring in English and minoring in studio art. She started at the Writing Center in Fall 2023. She loves to write, and looks forward to sharing that passion with the folks that come into the Writing Center. She’s from Northampton, a small town in the Lehigh Valley near Bethlehem. In addition to being a tutor, she is also the President of the American Association of University Women at Millersville, the Treasurer of the film club and the George Street Press, and social media coordinator of the English Club.

    Fun Fact: Allison’s favorite book is catch 22
