Grants

Grants are a type of financial aid that do not require repayment and are considered to be a type of gift aid or "free money"!

  • To be considered for a grant, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year that you plan to be enrolled.
  • Grants are awarded to students based on financial need, which is determined by the Student Aid Index (SAI) calculated from your FAFSA and the Cost of Attendance (COA) at your college.
  • Grants can come from various sources, including the federal government, state governments, colleges and universities, and private organizations.
