Gwen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, who began her current role at the Millersville University School of Social Work, as the OWEP grant program coordinator in February 2020. Her previous professional experience includes providing treatment and services for people with mental health symptoms and drug and alcohol use concerns in residential, inpatient, and community-based settings. Gwen coordinated programs for Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS), outpatient Chemical Dependency services and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She served as the Facility Director for a start-up bilingual residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Gwen provided outpatient therapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, for children, teens, adults and families for more than ten years and facilitated PCIT for seven years. As a formerly certified trainer for Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Gwen facilitated numerous trainings in community settings on these topics. Gwen completed her Master of Social Work degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She has a passion for developing and promoting new program offerings within the context of the behavioral health treatment field.
